Senior Partner & Lead Counsel
Look, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it - the legal system's tough, and if you're facing criminal charges or a corporate lawsuit, you need someone who's been in the trenches.
I've spent the last 22 years defending folks who thought they had no shot. Started out as a public defender in East Vancouver back in '03, handling everything from DUIs to homicide cases. Saw firsthand how the system can chew people up and spit 'em out if they don't have proper representation.
Switched gears around 2010 when I realized white-collar criminals needed just as much help - maybe more, 'cause the financial crimes unit doesn't mess around. Got my corporate litigation chops by defending executives who'd been thrown under the bus by their own companies.
These days, I run a tight ship with my team. We don't take cases we can't win, and we don't make promises we can't keep. What I can tell you is that when I walk into a courtroom, prosecutors know they're in for a fight.
Called to the British Columbia Bar in 2003. Got my criminal law certification in 2006, my securities litigation specialization in 2012. I've argued before the BC Court of Appeal fourteen times, Supreme Court of Canada twice. Won most of those, lost a couple - that's how it goes.
"Every case is personal. Every client deserves someone who'll go to bat for them without holding back. That's what we do here."

Two decades of fighting the good fight
University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law
Graduated top 15% of my class. Wasn't valedictorian material but I knew how to argue a point. Started with Legal Aid BC right outta school - trial by fire, really.
R v. Henderson, BC Supreme Court
Defended a guy facing 15 years for armed robbery. Prosecution's case fell apart when we proved their star witness couldn't have seen what they claimed. Charges dropped. That's when I realized I'm pretty good at this.
Opening Rune Venom Chronos
Hung up my own shingle after seven years grinding it out. Started taking on white-collar cases - fraud, embezzlement, securities violations. Turns out corporate criminals need someone who understands street law tactics.
Charter Rights Appeal
Took a constitutional case all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. Won 7-2 on a search and seizure issue that changed how police conduct investigations in BC. Made headlines, got some hate mail, but my client walked free.
$47M Business Dispute Resolution
Defended a tech startup against a multinational trying to squeeze them out. Three years of litigation, but we won a settlement that kept my client in business. That's when the corporate work really took off.
Vancouver Office, Downtown Core
Running a team of six lawyers now. We handle everything from street-level criminal defense to multi-million dollar corporate litigation. The work's harder than ever, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
